Hello my friends. Well, here we go again with (an attempt of) an update on the Patriot Quartet. First, I have a small confession to make. You haven’t seen an update for a while due to my aggravation with this computer! A couple of weeks ago, I spent hours bringing our readers up to date on the comings and goings of the group only to loose it all when I attempted to publish it to our site!!! Not being on the best of terms with this contraption to start with, I almost swore off completely! OK, what actually happened was that I had myself a nice Christian fit! Ah, confession is good for the soul. I feel better.
In the aforementioned news update I tried to mention each concert and the fine folks that were there. That list was quite lengthy and now another month has already gone by. Let me just say that we love and appreciate the ministers, music directors and others who have welcomed us into their churches and have trusted us to lead their folks in worship. We also want to thank the enthusiastic and loving folks in the congregations and audiences that have so warmly accepted us and our music wherever we go. Through your prayers and monetary support, you’re a real and important part of what God is accomplishing in the Patriot’s ministry. We want each of you to know how much we love and appreciate you personally.
In other news,
- Praise the Lord! Jerry’s voice is back nearly full force. Thanks to you who prayed for him. We depend on prayer.
- Celebrate, a new song penned by our own Joe White, was released to radio mid June, and from all indications is doing well. Please listen for it on your local station and remember to call the station and request it. Thanks.
- Standing For God and Country, our brand new recording project, has been completed! We should be receiving product any day now. This new project contains a good mix of new and previously recorded songs. We have also included several patriotic songs with a gospel message. I think you’ll like it.
- The Patriot Quartet Homecoming 2007 will be Oct. 26 and 27, 2007 at the Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The church is located on the corner of US 127 and Carlton Lane. Guests this year will include the Jay Stone Singers (Friday) and the Called Out Quartet and Cheryl Jackson (Saturday). Cameo appearances by a couple of local favorites may be included each night. Keep in touch for more specifics later.
- The National Quartet Convention will be held Sept. 10th thru 15th in Louisville Kentucky at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. Please come by and see the Patriot Quartet in booths 311/313. Make plans to hear us perform at the NQC Showcase beginning at noon on Monday.
- The Kentucky Gospel Singing Convention will be held at the Cave City Convention Center Oct. 19th and 20th. The Patriots will be there on Friday the 19th. The program begins at 6:00 on Friday evening and 5:30 on Saturday. Make plans to come on down and join in the fun.
Until next time, may God richly bless us all.
